Hi, I’m Zephyr! I may look like a quiet little lady at first, but give me some time and you’ll discover that underneath all this beautiful fluff is a curious, playful little explorer.
When I first arrive somewhere new, I like to take things slowly. A safe hiding spot, a calm home and a predictable routine help me figure out that everything is okay. Please don’t rush me—I promise I’m worth the wait. Once I start feeling safe, my curiosity takes over, and that’s when you get to meet the real Zephyr.
I LOVE to play. Wand toys are one of my favourites, and when the mood strikes, I’ll chase, pounce and even make some pretty impressive leaps! I’m also very curious about what’s happening beyond my little corner of the world. An open doorway is particularly interesting to me, and I’ve been known to take an opportunity to do a little exploring when nobody is looking. What can I say? There’s a big world out there and somebody needs to investigate it!
I’m also learning that humans can be pretty wonderful. It took me some time to work up the courage, but now I’ll approach my foster human, sniff their hand and even eat kibble right from it. I recently discovered that human hands taste interesting too—I may have given one a few tiny licks after finishing my snack. I’m still learning about affection and prefer to make the first move, so the best way to win my heart is simply to sit quietly, play with me and let me come to you.
How do I act?
My sister Morgana is my best friend, and we’re a bonded pair who need to find our forever home together. We may be sisters, but we have our own personalities. I’m often the curious investigator of the two, while Morgana likes to watch and think things over. Having her beside me gives me confidence, and wherever our next adventure takes us, we’re taking it together.
My perfect family will understand that trust isn’t something I give away immediately. I need a calm, patient home where I can settle in at my own pace and know that my boundaries will be respected. In return, you’ll get the enormous privilege of watching a cautious little kitty gradually decide that your home is her home too. If you’re willing to give Morgana and me a little time, a lot of kindness, some good hiding spots and plenty of wand-toy adventures, I think we might just be the girls you’ve been waiting for.
My Health is Very Important!
I am fully vetted. I need at least one meal of wet food daily for hydration. Wet food is essential for kitties, so please ensure it’s included in my diet. Wet food is higher in protein and can be lower in carbs. It also provides added moisture, which is important, as dry-food-only-fed cats tend to be dehydrated, potentially leading to UTIs. It would be a good idea to give me gabapentin for at least a month to help me settle in, it’s quite cheap and Zoe’s can help you get me the medication. I may not always need to be on it, but it will really help reduce my anxiety while I settle into a new home.
